Is a unique vintage hideaway located in the North Texas town of Jacksboro. It is approximately 60 miles west of the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

We offer bird watching, fishing, hunting, photography, stargazing, and trail riding, along with many other facets of recreation. Historic Fort Richardson, awaits you with it’s stories & buildings dating back to the 1800’s.

A fully furnished 50’s type cabin amid oak trees and wildflowers. God provides the main ingredients - beauty and safety in a secure, secluded environment.

The Purple Thistle is owned by the Fitzgerald family. You will enjoy not only the sights and sounds of nature but the feeling of being treated just like family.
